Last week, the team at Ipsos Retail Performance attended the Retail Business Technology Expo at London’s Olympia. Here, Head of Sales and Marketing Manager Tim Joint, looks back on how the two-day show went.

The Retail Business Technology Expo is always well received by the biggest names in retail, and this year’s event was no different. It was great to see thousands of people descending on the Olympia, all with a great passion and interest for retail.

Our stand, which unveiled the new Fusion Hub, attracted a number of key prospects, with people interested and engaged with the new product. We noticed many people keen to speak to us in advance and we took an increasing number of European visitors to our stand, with leads in Italy, France, Spain and Morocco to name but a few.

It wasn’t just the potential new leads which proved beneficial for us. The show provided a great opportunity to catch up with existing clients to see how our offering was helping their business to progress.

We also received some great feedback with regard to our integrated solution based around store traffic, conversion rates, insights into shopper behaviour, workforce management solutions, Wi-Fi capabilities and queuing and customer journey management.

A few of us took some time off the stand on Thursday afternoon in order to see our very own director of retail intelligence Dr. Tim Denison speak as part of a panel debate on ‘the future of retail’. As always, Tim provoked plenty of discussion with his thoughts and provided valuable insight, fuelling a number of questions from the lively audience.

All in all, it was a great exhibition and we can’t wait until next year!
